Girls volleyball sweeps Penns Valley

Ava Patton had 12 digs in B-A’s first-round playoff win.

Tuesday night the Lady Blue Devils hosted Penns Valley in the first round in the District 6 2A playoffs. The girls came out strong, didn’t back down, and won the match with a 3-0 sweep. 

Led by seniors Hailee McConnell, Brielle Campbell, and Lydia Worthing, the team played its best game of the season in arguably the most important game so far. 

Worthing had 14 kills, 7 digs, and 4 aces. Junior Jessie Corrado led the team with 15 digs. Sophomores Ava Patton and Avah Hassler both had 12 digs and McConnell had an impressive 25 assists contributing to the win. 

Tonight Bellwood-Antis travels to Philipsburg-Osceola to play the Mountaineers in the second round of playoffs. The Blue Devils are now 16-3 while Philipsburg-Osceola is 19-4-1. The winner of this game will advance to the district 6 semifinals. The game tonight starts at 7.  

Due to the volleyball game tonight the powderpuff game has been moved to Sunday at 1.
