The “trio” on the Brooklyn Nets refers to the team’s three star players: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. The trio was formed in the 2020-2021 NBA season when the Brooklyn Nets traded for James Harden, joining Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, who were already on the team.

The trio was widely regarded as one of the most talented and potent offensive trios in NBA history, with each player being a perennial All-Star and capable of scoring in a variety of ways. The Nets were expected to be title contenders with the trio leading the charge.

However, injuries and other issues plagued the trio during their time together. Kyrie Irving was often injured or dealing with personal issues, and missed significant time during the playoffs. James Harden also battled injuries, including a hamstring injury that kept him out for much of the playoffs. Kevin Durant was the only member of the trio who remained relatively healthy, but even he suffered from fatigue and the burden of carrying the team at times.

Despite the trio’s talent, the Nets were ultimately unable to win the NBA championship in the 2020-2021 season, falling to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The following season, the trio struggled to stay healthy and cohesive, and the Nets were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the eventual champion, the Milwaukee Bucks.

As of now, the future of the trio on the Brooklyn Nets is uncertain, as James Harden and Kyrie Irving are both set to become free agents after the 2021-2022 season. The Nets may have to make some tough decisions regarding their future, but the trio’s time together will be remembered as one of the most talented and exciting periods in the team’s history.
