Katy’s Karnival proceeds will all go to the Bellwood pool.

Katy Crewse, a 5th grader at Bellwood-Antis Middle School, will be hosting “Katy’s Karnival” this summer to help give back to the community, but specifically to help the Bellwood Community Pool.

The karnival will be held on July 7th, 8th, and 9th at Hillside Community Church.

All proceeds raised at the carnival will be donated to the Bellwood Community Pool.

“I wanted to help the community out,” Katy said.

In February, Bellwood Borough said that it was conducting a feasibility study to determine if the pool was worthy of a financial investment from the community. It was estimated then that the upgrades the pool would need could cost as much as $1.5 million.

At the karnival, there will be games like crazy ball, pig race, animal world, and gator alley, as well as food vendors like Tropic – O – Ice, Katie J’s food truck, and Paper Popcorn.

There will also be performing acts at the karnival, such as performances from singer Jonathon Zinn/Fender Ridge at 2-5 on Saturday, and a magician on Sunday.

Along with craft vendors being there for 2 days, there will also be a  basket raffle going all weekend long.

Last year, Katy had a karnival for the local fire department, and plans on picking a new candidate each year to help support.

Katy’s mother, Brittani McFarland, says that Katy, “loves helping her community anyway she can. She has had an outstanding community support during all this.”

Be sure to support Katy’s Karnival and the Bellwood Community Pool by attending the karnival on July 7th, 8th, and 9th!
