FCA is hosting See You at the Pole Wednesday morning.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is hosting its annual See You at the Pole event on Wednesday, September 27 at 7 a.m.

Students and faculty will meet outside of the high school at the flagpole to pray for the school and their community.

See You at the Pole is a nationwide event that takes place during the fourth week of September, where students and community members will get together before school to pray. This showing of faith is completely student led.

The event began when a group of teenagers in Texas in 1990 gathered to pray for their school. It gained some traction over the years and has become a tradition for schools everywhere, with millions taking part in showing their faith and praying for a good year.

FCA Vice President Connor Cobaugh will be one of the members who will be speaking at the event, along with president Corry Shanafelt. Other officers include:

  • Secretary: Vincent Cacciotti
  • Treasurer: Miranda Tornatore
  • Senior class Leader: Shawna Lovrich
  • Junior class Leader: Holden Schreier
  • Sophmore class Leader: Cooper Lovrich
  • Freshman class Leader: Alex McCartney

This year, each officer will have a different part they’re leading.

“Last year in the big circle it was hard to hear and not everyone was conformable sharing things to pray about,” Cobaugh said.

To help with this problem, every officer will be taking a small group into individual prayer circles.
