Senior basketball player Anthony Caracciolo has been named the Blueprint’s Athlete of The Week.
With only 3 games played so far in the season, Caracciolo has already stood out as a leader and a threat on the court. Currently, he is averaging 16 points per game.
Caracciolo started off this season by dropping 22 points on the difficult and big Hollidaysburg team, a career high. The boys’ basketball team has a difficult schedule this year, and have started out the season 1-2 so far. This hasn’t stopped Anthony from going off though, and he will look to continue to do what he’s doing, hopefully the wins will start to follow.
Caracciolo says, “This year I am looking to just go out there and do whatever the team needs me to do to win games. So far, I have been that go to guy to score, so I hope I can continue my success scoring.”
Caracciolo has high hopes and goals for the team this year saying, “My hopes for the team would be to finish this season with a winning record and to make the playoffs.”
Anthony has caught the eye of his teammates and coaches already this year and has shown what he can do. Coach Mertiff says, “Anthony is our team leader. He has put a ton of work in this off-season to better his overall game, and it has paid off early on. He brings not only scoring to our team but also a leader on the defensive end.”
Congratulations Anthony on being the Athlete of The Week, and good luck with the rest of the season.
