Nate Claar placed fourth last weekend in the toughest weight class at the Sheetz Holiday Wrestling Classic.

Nate Claar has been on a pinning spree this wrestling season.

The junior is 14-5 and has pinned five of his opponents in the 152-pound weight class.

Tuesday Nate and the Blue Devils wrestling team won against Juniata Valley. Last night they lost a tough one to Tyrone, but Claar won his match by decision.

For his efforts he has been named the BluePrint’s athlete of the week!

How did you get into wrestling?

Nate: My dad got me into it when I was young.

How long have you been wrestling?

Nate: 8 years.

What’s your favorite thing about wrestling?

Nate: Getting my hand raised at the end.

What’s the most difficult aspect of wrestling?

Nate: Getting over the constant mental battle with yourself and just wrestling like you know how.

How big is wrestling in your family?

Nate: It’s our main sport.

How do you feel that your next wrestling season is your last here at BAHS?

Nate: I don’t want it to end but it’s going to be a good final run.

How do you prepare for the sport in the off-season?

Nate: Go to a lot of camps in the summer and wrestle as many matches as possible.
