National Banana Bread Day

On February 23rd National Banana Bread day is  recognized as a well known food holiday.

Banana bread is a type of sweet bread made from mashed bananas.

Banana bread originated in North America, and there is a theory that banana bread was a by product of the Great Depression as resourceful housewives did not wish to throw away overripe bananas.

So today if your hungry go out and try some banana bread.

Here is a list of things you can do to celebrate today:

  • Bake your favorite version of banana bread to celebrate.
  • Invite someone to join you and eat banana bread.
  • Visit your local bakery and pick up some banana bread.
