When you think of Breakfast, you may think of eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, or even waffles.  But one of the easiest, and most delicious breakfast foods is the classic staple of toast.

Today is National Toast Day.

What makes toast such a valuable food is the versatility. What gets put on your toast is mostly personal preference and it can vary in many ways You can have a multitude of jams, jellies, marmalades and fruit spreads, but it’s just as good for cold cut sandwiches or even toasted PB and J.

Toast can be cooked to your personal preference, whether you like your toast slightly brown or burnt to a crisp it’s all up to you.

Another thing about toast is how you can have different types of bread like cinnamon bread, raison bread, or even whole wheat. All are good choices when it comes to making toast. Many delis and diners fall back on the classic white toast for sandwiches. There’s nothing better than a BLT that’s cool on the inside but surrounded by two warm pieces of lightly browned toast.

B-A’s home economics teacher recognized the utility and value of toast today when, in celebration of National Toast Day, she had her students make avocado toast.

So when you wake up sometime go chow down on a couple pieces of toast.
