On Tuesday, the Bellwood-Antis boys track and field team got it done. They were victorious over both Huntingdon, 91-59, and Bishop Guilfoyle, 144-6 in a meet held at Huntingdon.
The Lady Blue Devils split the two meets.
Senior Kole Dickinson won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles for the Blue Devils with times of 16.35 seconds and 43.26 seconds.
Senior Gabe Thompson won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 12.02 seconds and 24.04 seconds. Junior Holden Schreier ran the 800 and placed first with a time of 2 minutes and 20.18 seconds, with Mcaulley Corle right behind him in second, running a time of 2 minutes and 21.93 seconds.
Senior Corry Shanafelt won the high jump with a height of 5’ 8”. Senior Dalton Poorman won the triple jump with a distance of 38’ 10.5” and pole vault with a height of 10’ 6”.
BA (Holden Schreier, Conner Bardell, Kole Dickinson, Gabe Thompson) won the 1600m relay with a time of 3 minutes and 47.69 seconds. Bellwood (Holden Schreier, Conner Bardell, Daniel Reilly, and Martin Fatzinger) also took home the 3200m relay with a time of 9 minutes and 31.34 seconds.
“I thought we did a good job and am very happy with the progress we are making as a team,” said Coach Nick Lovrich. “Hopefully we can continue that growth from all of our athletes.”
The girls took a big win over BG, 139-11, but fell to Huntingdon, 77.5-72.5.
Junior Briley Campbell won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes for Bellwood with times of 13.65 seconds and 27.96 seconds. Junior Avah Hassler won the 400m dash with a time of 1 minute and 5.5 seconds. Freshman Blake Pennington won the 800m and 3200m with times of 2 minutes and 41.04 seconds and 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Chloe Stoltzfus won the 300m hurdles for BA with a time of 52.79 seconds.
The girls team also dominated in the relays. Bellwood (Stoltzfus, A. Hassler, C. Hammond, Campbell) won the 400 relay with a time of 52.9 seconds. The 1600 relay was won by Wagner, A. Hassler, Cacciotti, and Kraft with a time of 4 minutes and 56.29 seconds. Bellwood-Antis (Andrews, Pennington, Cacciotti, and Kraft) also took home the 3200 relay with a time of 12 minutes flat.
The met against Tyrone and Hollidaysburg originally scheduled for today in the county seat has been postponed due to impending rain.
