The Lady Devils hosted the Central Lady Dragons Monday, and a late offensive surge guided B-A to a walk off victory.
B-A picked up the 8-7 win on a walk-off hit by freshman Payton Koozer.
The Lady Devils advanced to 3-8 on the year while Central moved to 4-8.
A strong pitching effort by Palynn Greg kept the Lady Devils in the game.
The Lady Dragons started the scoring in the first inning picking up one. B-A responded with a big inning by putting five on the board, but Central chipped away and by the seventh inning the Lady Dragons had a 7-5 advantage.
Central was led by Aubrey Rhodes, who contributed a home run and knocked in three runs. Kailyn Gahagan added two RBIs during Central’s big innings.
B-A got two RBIs from both Amyra Snyder and Ava Moore.
The Lady Devils then found themselves with an opportunity in the bottom of the seventh. After putting up two runs to tie the game, pinch hitter Payton Koozer came up and knocked a base hit to left field to win it for the Lady Devils.
“I felt relieved and excited for our team to have another victory,” Koozer said.
Gregg got the win on the mound. She struck out seven and only walked two to keep the B-A in the game.
The girls continue their home stretch Thursday against Richland. Richland is currently 6-6 and are coming off a 4-0 loss to Bedford.
