Artist of the week this week Alyssa Briggs says she is so grateful to be appreciated for doing something she’s passionate about.
“It feels good to be recognized for something I love,” Alyssa Says.
She says that she was surprised that she was picked, but she does believe she deserves it.
Alyssa is a singer who has been in chorus since 5th grade. She loves singing and this is her first year doing theatre. She has landed the role of Gingy in this year’s musical ‘Shrek’. This is her first time doing a school musical she she says she is really enjoying it so far.
She’s not sure if theatre will play a big part in her future, but she says she will try to be a part of it in some way no matter what.
This year Alyssa says she has stepped out of her comfort zone and started doing more things involving county chorus, the school musical, and singing solos in chorus concerts.
Mr. Naylor, who taught Alyssa in both ninth grade English and BluePrint, says it’s not surprising to see her thriving artistically.
“Even outside of music and theater, Alyssa and super talented for things like video production and editing,” he said. “She and a couple friends always did movies and short videos as projects for my class, and they were excellent. Always creative and inspired.”
Alyssa says she is grateful to be picked to be Artist of the Week especially because she has worked so hard to earn the title.
