On February 6, National Chopsticks Day comes around. Chopsticks can be used as an eating utensil, stirring, support beams for plants, or even your hair.
Chopsticks were invented in China, around the Shang Dynasty. However, the Han Dynasty historian Sima Qian wrote that it is likely that chopsticks were also used in the preceding Xia Dynasty.
The first chopsticks that were found to be within this time period were made out of copper, with current chopsticks made from bamboo, wood, stainless steel, and plastic.
Chopsticks are commonly used in Asian Countries like, China, Japan, Korea, Vietman, Thailand, and Malaysia. Chopsticks are used all over the world.
