Four BA Wrestlers Take A Spot on Pennsylvania All-Academic Team
In April, several of the Bellwood-Antis varsity wrestlers made the Pennsylvania All-Academic Wrestling Team.
To qualify, wrestlers must carry at least a 3.0 non-weighted average and must win at least 60% of their matches.
Jeremy and Josh Wilson were named to the first team, which requires a 3.9-4.0 average. Jeremy’s record was 28-8, while Josh’s record was 18-8.
Soon to be senior Nate Claar was named to the 3rd team, which requires a 3.5 to 3.7 non-weighted average. He finished with a record of 18-8.
Zach Mock was deemed Honorable Mention, needing a 3.0 to 3.46 GPA. He ended his final season with a 23-14 record.
“We are very proud of the accomplishments of all our wrestlers,” said head coach Ron Wilson. “These four excelled in the classroom as well as on the mat. Bellwood has been well-represented on the Pennsylvania All-Academic Wrestling Team the past several years, but this is the first year that we’ve had four wrestlers make it.”
Requiring intense dedication and a very strong work ethic, these four wrestlers have worked hard to be rewarded and recognized.
“Our future teams and wrestlers would do well trying to achieve what these four have accomplished both academically and athletically,” said Coach Wilson.
