Senior Riley Barnhart has recently committed to Penn State Altoona and University Park.
She is planning on utilizing Penn State’s 2+2 program, which splits a major between branch and main campuses. “My dad’s sister and dad are both Penn State Alumni,” sated Riley, “and I have wanted to go to this college since I was little.”
When asking Riley what stood out about Penn State, she stated, “It is structured very differently from high school, it has a lot more freedom and on top of the freedoms you get to be on your own.”
Riley is planning on majoring in Secondary Education and possibly double majoring with business.
“I plan on applying for Penn State’s honors program as well, I have gotten notified that I qualify for it,” stated Riley.
Riley will also be seeing familiar face with her, as her best friend Maddie Kenner will also be attending Penn State in the fall. “The first person I told was Maddie, we were both thrilled that we will be going to Penn State together,” stated Riley.
We wish Riley the best of luck with her future plans and goals!

The 2+2 program is nice because you get to enjoy being close to home and the smaller campus experience and the busier, more exciting features of the main campus. Congrats and GL Riley!
