Athlete of the Week: Brendan Kowalski
Last weekend junior Brendan Kowalski didn’t miss an extra-point. He also caught 3 passes for 97 yards in a win over Philipsburg-Osceola.
This season Kowalski has 7 catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 32 extra-points and one field goal.
For his efforts he is the BluePrints athlete of the week.
The Blue Devils face Portage Saturday in the District 6-A playoffs.
BluePrint: How did you get involved with football?
Kowalski: My friends convinced me to play in 8 grade.
BluePrint: How do you feel about your season so far?
Kowalski: I feel we are having a really good season with some games that didn’t go our way.
BluePrint: Are you confident that the game will go your team’s way this Saturday?
Kowalski: As long as we win the battle upfront the game should end up going our way.
BluePrint: What advice do you have for younger players?
Kowalski: Working hard in the off season pays off during our actual season.
BluePrint: What other sports do you play?
Kowalski: I play baseball.
Blueprint: After this season how do you think the team will do without the seniors?
Kowalski: We will have some spots to fill without the seniors but we should do fine.
BluePrint: Do you plan to play football after high school?
Kowalski: Yes I plan to play football in college.
