Feature Teacher: Mr. Conlon

This month’s Feature Teacher for the middle school is none other than Mr. Conlon.

Mr. Conlon graduated from Bellwood-Antis in 1997, and Shippensburg in 2001. He began teaching here in Bellwood at the beginning of the 2002 school year. Conlon has accomplished many things within his 14 year career here at BA. He has participated in coaching Varsity boy’s basketball as well as Varsity baseball.

Conlon has been coaching baseball at BA since he became a teacher here.  He won a state title with the baseball team in the 2003 season, and believes that Bellwood has a chance to bring home another state championship.

“It takes talent, a strong work ethic, and some luck to win a state title.  I feel that if our players put in the time, anything is possible in any given season.” Said Conlon.

Recently, Conlon has stepped back from coaching basketball to spend more time with his family.

“I miss coaching the game, however, coaching back to back sports and having three children at home was difficult.  Not coaching gives me time to see my own children play basketball.”

Mr. Conlon seems to be quite excited about this upcoming season even though the Blue Devils are lacking his golden boy, Chad Luensmann. He feels as though the team has a strong nucleus of players returning and is excited to see how everything unfolds.

And above all, Conlon is excited about the dependable pitching staff that is returning for another season.
