Ellen Crook was one of two Lady Blue Devils to set meet records at yesterday’s ICC meet.

The Lady Blue Devils reigned supreme at the ICC championship meet yesterday.

After winning the regular season title, the BA girls cruised to the championship of the ICC meet, doubling up the score of their nearest competitor.

Ellen Crook was named Outstanding Runner, her second such award in as many invitationals.  Crook was named Outstanding athlete at the West Central Coaches Meet last Friday.

Yesterday, she placed first in the 800-meter run, 1600-meter run, and 3200-meter run. Her time of 2:21.79 was a meet record.

Crook said, “I’m pretty confident for Districts, based on my times. I feel I can win at Districts.”

Bailey Swogger placed first in the 200 meter run, setting a meet record in the process with a time of 26.81.  Megan Martin won the pole vault with a leap of 8 feet.

The Lady Devils rode a tidal wave of high finishes just off gold medal standard.  All three of B-A’s relay teams finished second, while Alexis Shade took second in both the 100 and 300 hurdles.  Swogger was second in the 100, Salena Damiano was second in the discus and Emily Hanwell was runner-up in the javelin.
