The BluePrint’s Feature teacher this month is Mr. Travis Martin. Mr. Martin is a teacher at Bellwood-Antis Middle School who teaches both science and American cultures. He also coaches for both junior high football and basketball.

The BluePrint asked Mr. Martin about some of his favorite things.

The BluePrint: What got you into science?

Mr. Martin: I think it was reading Michael Crichton’s books when I was younger (Jurassic Park, Andromeda Strain, Congo, Sphere, etc.), which can be attributed to Mrs. Nycum’s 7th Grade reading projects. In college, I had a great experience in research labs and working in the medical field.

The BluePrint: What’s your favorite movie?

Mr. Martin: Interstellar

The BluePrint: What’s your favorite color?

Mr. Martin: No preference. Visible Light is only about 1% of the radiation spectrum.  I am not sure I am qualified to answer this question.

The BluePrint: Who’s your favorite actor?

Mr. Martin: Tom Hanks. Cast Away, da Vinci Code, Saving Private Ryan, he has yet to make a bad movie.

The BluePrint: If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Mr. Martin: To see all the colors of the radiation spectrum, now that I think about it…
