Brielle Campbell takes to the air in the long jump against Tyrone.

Any win over rival Tyrone is a good one, and the Bellwood-Antis boys and girls track and field field teams got two of them yesterday at Memorial Stadium.

The boys won in rather convincing fashion, riding their dominance in the field to a 95-56 victory. It was a little tighter for the Lady Devils, but their dominance in the distance events and overall depth were the difference in a 79-71 win over the Lady Eagles.

Zach Mallon was a triple winner for the Blue Devils, personally sweeping the jumping events. B-A had three double winners, with Sean Mallon claiming the top spot in the 100 and 200, Hunter Shawley taking the 110 and 300 hurdles, and Joe Wertz outdistancing the field in the discuss and shot put.

On the girls side, Lexi Lovrich matched Mallon’s triple-win performance by earning wins in the 800, 1600, and 3200. Sophia Nelson was another multiple-winner on the track with victories in the 100 and 300 hurdles.

Rebecca Burns (discus), Aly Partner (shot put) and Lydia Worthing (pole vault) came through with crucial wins in the field.

The Lady Devils pulled through sweeping three events – the pole vault, discus and 100 hurdles, and winning first and second in the shot put.
