Lydia Worthing almost had a triple-double against United.

Last night, the Lady Blue Devils basketball squad picked up their third straight win over United in a 67-62 shootout. Lydia Worthing had yet another dominant performance with 29 points and 18 rebounds while Chelsea Mccaulsky had 14 points and dished 11 assists to overcome the Lady Lions.

This win moves the Lady Blue Devils to a 3-1 mark on the season as they remain at the top of the ICC conference with a 3-0 record in league play. The Lady Blue Devils dealt with some adversity early in the day with players being contact traced at school and being forced to play with masks.

When asked about her big performance, Worthing stated “I really wanted it tonight, we wanted to show that we are a team to watch out for going forward, and this win was big for proving that.” “The covid issues were definitely concerning, we thought we were gonna lose some people and that’s why we had to cancel the JV game, but we still got the win so that’s all that matters.” Worthing also added regarding the contact tracing of her teammates.

The Lady Blue Devils are back on the court again tonight to take on Moshannon Valley at home at 7pm.
