Game On! Five Nights at Freddy’s
If you’re looking for a job, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is the place for you! You get paid $300 a night to watch the restaurant—oh, but one catch. The animatronics are a bit odd, and move around at night… And seeing as it’s a rule at our friendly establishment that we all wear our suits, they’ll mistake you as an exoskeleton without a suit and… shove you in one.
And, that might not be a problem if the suits weren’t filled with gears that would probably kill you.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is an indie point-and-click survival game created by Scott Cawthon. The idea of this game is to watch the security cameras to see where the animatronics are moving around to. You have two doors and are stationary in the security office. If you see one coming near you, you have to quickly react and close the door that the machine is nearby. If you don’t react quickly enough, the animatronics will catch you and you will have to restart. One catch, though… You only have a limited amount of power, and if you run out, you’re stuck in the dark with no doors to guard you from them. To win the night, you must make it to 6am. (8 to 9 minutes in real time.) Because everyone would want to go more than one night on this job, right?
If you are sensitive to jump scares and dark themes, don’t play this game. This game’s platforms are Windows, Android, and iOS. The first adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s came out on August 8, 2014. The creator intended the simple design and mechanics of the gameplay to induce a feeling of paranoia. A famous youtuber that played this game, Markiplier, called it “the scariest game in years.”
I think that this game is a very good game. It’s my favorite out of a lot of the games that I’ve played on PC. The most notable feeling as I began to play was the heavy dread that filled me as I scanned the cameras to first see these notorious animatronics in the same spot, only to see them move a minute later. I would definitely recommend this to a gamer that enjoys jump scares and overall dark themes in their games.
