On Tuesday, November 18, and Thursday, November 20, the Bellwood-Antis middle school hosted the annual reading competition.

Reading competition is a competition between students from different schools where kids form teams of 12 and get a list of 40 books. The teams read all of the books and go against the other schools by being asked questions about the various books.

The BA Gold team got 3rd place on both competition days.

Some of the schools that attended were Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Bishop Guilfoyle, Carroltown, Cambria Heights, and Forrest Hills.

Total, there were 500 competitors on Thursday and 700 on Tuesday.

For each question correctly answered, the team gets one point.

Bellwood-Antis 7th and 8th grade scored 53 points.
