Lydia Worthing has just started the second sport of her senior year. After a standout volleyball season, she didn’t slow down to start her last basketball season with the Lady Devils.

Lydia missed the first two games of the season with an injury, but she came back and scored 17 points in a win over Juniata Valley. Friday night she put up 9 points as the Lady Devils got another win over Moshannon Valley. This week against Curwensville, Worthing poured in 11 in an 80-17 victory.

Because of her performance Lydia has been named Athlete of the Week.

After 3 games she is averaging 12.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. She is also putting on the numbers on the defensive side, averaging 2 steals per game and 1.5 blocks per game.

Last year Lydia averaged a double double with 13 points per game and 12 rebounds per game in B-A’s impressive PIAA final four run.

The Lady Devils are now 4-1 and play Williamsburg Thursday in a key ICC matchup.

“I want to win a state championship, but we have to focus on the ICC, especially Williamsburg. I have recovered really smoothly and I have a lot of really great people that worked together to get me back on the court.” stated Worthing.
