Three band members to play in PMEA District Band

Beginning Thursday and running through Friday, several Bellwood-Antis students began participating in PMEA District 6 Band in Somerset. These students are Senior Curt Messner and junior Revel Southwell on trumpet, and sophomore Sarah Knisely on oboe.
They will be auditioning for the chance to advance to Regional band.
Revel is looking forward to district band. He said, “I look forward to a new musical experience. You never know what your director’s going to be like and it makes a nice change every time you go to a festival like Districts.”
Band Director Patrick Sachse had a say in what this brought to the students chosen to attend.
He said, “This is an audition festival where the students have put hard work in and, they are playing at a higher level than most students in the surrounding counties.”
This also says a lot about the music program at B-A.
Mr. Sachse added, “We have just as much talent and strength as students from larger schools.”
