Lady Blue Devils sink Williamsburg Pirates
Last night the Lady Blue Devils protected their undefeated ICC record against the Williamsburg Lady Pirates at home at the Bellwood-Antis gymnasium.
The Lady Blue Devils were playing their best and it surely did pay off with an outstanding 82-32 victory.
Senior Kelly Leamer had a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 17 assists. Sophomore Karson Swogger had a double- double with 16 points and 10 steals.
“We’re playing really well right now, especially as a team,” said Leamer. “We’re all looking for each other.”
Leamer and Swogger weren’t the only ones with an outstanding individual performance during last night’s game. Senior Ana Hollen led the team by scoring 17 points. Senior Anna Lynn also had a double figures with 11 points.
The Lady Blue Devils only sunk 1 of 11 3-point shots, which was made by freshman by Shayla Branstetter.
The Lady Blue Devils have an overall record of 9-1 and a record of 6-0 in the ICC North.
“This game was really important because we have a bunch of big games coming up, like against Bishop Guilfoyle, so we have to be at the top of our game,” said Leamer.
Tomorrow the boys are staying home to play against Moshannon Valley. Come out and support the boys basketball team at 7:30 p.m.
