Christian Jennings stars as Mr. MacAfee in the up-coming spring production!

In the up-and-coming musical production of Bye Bye Birdie this spring, Christian Jennings will star as Mr. MacAfee! In the show, Mr. MacAfee is Kim MacAfee’s father and the wife is Mrs. MacAfee, played by senior Kimberly Bennett. Mr. MacAfee is a sarcastic, humorous man who does not appreciate Conrad Birdie coming in and taking over his household.

We asked him a few questions about his musical journey and what he’s looking forward to most:

Blueprint: What is your role in the musical?

Christian: Mr. Harry MacAfee

Blueprint: Why did you choose to participate?

Christian: My mom wouldn’t get off my case about it.

Blueprint: What is your favorite thing about being in the musical?

Christian: Time with girlfriend.

Blueprint: Have you participated in previous musicals before?

Christian: NO

Blueprint: What can the audience expect from this performance of Bye Bye Birdie?

Christian: Surprising voices.

Blueprint: Did you know about Bye Bye Birdie before the musical was decided upon?

Christian: Yes

Blueprint: Who do you think the audience’s favorite character will be and why?

Christian: Conrad Birdie because Thad has the most charisma and is class president.

Blueprint: Give us your best pitch on why people should come see the musical.

Christian: Because no matter if its cringey or not, its still good entertainment. If you don’t like musicals, bring all your friends and make fun of us during the show. Still sells tickets!!!!

Congratulations Christian! We can’t wait to see the production!
