Mrs. Carney has been teaching math at B-A for 16 y4ears.

This week’s Feature Teacher has been teaching for 16 years. You may have her for a class or perhaps she is one of your colleagues.

Mrs. Carney has been a staple of B-A’s math department for almost 20 years.

Mrs. Carney is one of four math teachers at Bellwood-Antis High School. Her favorite grade to teach is 11th grade, but she also loves teaching Geometry.

“I had (those students) in 10th so it’s nice to have them twice,” she said.

Mrs. Carney shared some of her interests with the BluePrint, like her favorite animal. She said she loves all animals, “but since I’m allergic to fur, my favorite is a bearded dragon.”

She also enjoys alternative rock music, and her favorite vacation was when she took her kids to the beach for the first time last summer.

“It was amazing!” she said.

Mrs. Carney enjoys listening to music, and the last concert she went to was Good Charlotte/Simple Plan.

Bellwood-Antis has made quite an impression on Mrs. Carney during her 16-year career, but favorite part about Bellwood is how people care for each other.

What keeps her motivated as a teacher is being able to relate to her students and help them learn at this stage in their lives.
