The Bellwood-Antis baseball team travelled out to Williamsburg on Wednesday, and won 6-3 in 7 innings.
Facing off against the Blue Pirates who are always ICC contestants, Bellwood knew they had to make a statement.
Senior Vincent Cacciotti started on the mound for the Blue devils, and worked Williamsburg for four innings to log the victory.
B-A jumped on the Blue Pirates early, exploding for 3 runs in the first inning. Williamsburg regrouped to score three runs from the second through the fourth innings to cut the lead to 4-2 before the Devils plated single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Senior Zach Pier really showed out for the Blue Devils offensively, going 3-4 with a double, home run, and three RBI’s.
“It was a good team win that will give us some momentum for the rest of this week and into next week. It’s only a matter of time before we start rolling. For myself, I was locked in at the plate and it felt great to drive in some runs,” Pier said.
Senior Josh Dorminy and sophomore Camden Swogger each shared two hits of their own. Alex McCartney, Chase Plummer and Cacciotti all drove in runs.
Junior Mathew Berkowitz came into close, and threw 2 1/3 innings to register the save.
For Williamsburg Rowan Gorsuch and Logan Brantner each had two hits.
Good luck to the boys as on Friday they travel out to Westmont Hill Top to take on the Hilltoppers.
