Monkeypox (Mpox) is a viral illness that’s just beginning to spread worldwide, but the Bellwood-Antis School District is prepared in case it would be a problem locally.
2 weeks ago the World Health Organization declared mpox a global emergency.
However, July cases were actually significantly down from 2024 high is February to March, according to the CDC.
High School Principal Mr. Richard Schreier, stated, “Bellwood-Antis is always prepared.”
Mr. Edward DiSabato, the superintendent, said B-A is “always prepared and we have a great district with great staff.”
Vaccination is an important tool in preventing the spread of mpox. The vaccine may still protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death. Get vaccinated with both doses of the vaccine for the best protection.
