This week’s BAMS Athlete of the week is Ali Campbell. Ali plays basketball on the junior high team, but has been tearing up the court ever since first grade. We can thank the people that influenced her the most in her life such as her mother, Erin, father, Travis, and all of her amazing basketball coaches for giving fans a great show.

She has amazing sportsmanship and never gives up.

Campbell, a seventh grader, recently ended her first junior high season as the starting point guard on an ICC Championship team. The squad’s record was 22-1, with their only loss coming against Penn Cambria in a tournament. Her career high was 23 points against Everett.

As for Campbell’s future, she wants to go to a D1 school like UConn to play basketball and then to play overseas or in the WNBA. In addition to team practice, she also practices another hour a day so she can become like LeBron James. Besides playing on the B-A junior high team, Alli plays on a AAU tournament team called “Dynamite”. She travels all over the place with this group including to Nashville, Tennessee for a national tournament in which her team finished in fourth place out of 44 teams.

I had the chance to talk to some of Campbell’s amazing teammates, and here’s what they had to say about her:

Emilie Leidig: “Alli is such a great leader and is a strong and powerful basketball player. When you’re not playing well, she will help you out and you will start doing great.”

Krystina Taylor: “Alli is a good teammate and is very respectful towards everyone on the court. She has amazing sportsmanship and never gives up.”

I guess you can see why the BluePrint selected Alli Campbell as one of our Athletes of the Week! Great job!
