This week the Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis soccer teams face tough teams in the first round of the District 6 3A playoffs.
The boys play the Bellefonte Raiders in the first round of 3A playoffs on Thursday at Rogers Stadium. The girls kick off the playoffs tonight against Hollidaysburg at Tigers Stadium.
The boys are going to the playoffs as the last seed with a record 8-9-1. Bellefonte on the other hand is the No. 1 seed with a record of 13-2-3.
The girls play another No. 1 seed in Hollidaysburg, which is 13-4-1. Tyrone/B-A heads into the postseason at 5-12-1.
On the boys side, early in the season, the teams played twice and Bellefonte came out on top both times. The first time was the second game of the season, with Bellefonte winning 2-1, and the second one was last week, with Tyrone/B-A suffering a 5-1 loss.
“The team is very excited for this matchup. Since they are rivals with us, I think that gives us motivation to go out and play our best and win”. Senior Jake Baker mentioned.
The winner of this game will play the winner of Hollidaysburg vs Central Mountain in the championship, and the girls will play the winner of Somerset and Bellefonte.
