The B-A Blue Devils were in a neck and neck battle Tuesday evening. The boys traveled to Bald Eagle Area but fell just short in the fourth quarter. B-A’s offense was streaky but didn’t have consistency.
Bellwood-Antis lost 44-43 and dropped to 0-8 on the season.
Sophomore players Connor Mayes and Curtis Shedlock led the team’s scoring Tuesday. Mayes landed 13 points, and Shedlock followed with 10 of his own.
“The guards worked hard to get the ball down court and kept their eyes up to see the open man which just so happened to be me,” Mayes said. “We ran our blue press which led to us getting steals for layups too.”
B-A trailed by four heading into the half. The offense was neutralized coming out of the second half. Bald Eagle took a 34-29 advantage to the fourth quarter.
Bald Eagles’ forwards James Cowan and Wyatt Spackman both dropped 10 to guide the Eagle offense.
Bellwood-Antis outscored BEA 14-10 in the fourth quarter, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to make up for the early deficit.
The Blue Devils now host the Bellefonte Red Raiders Wednesday at 7:30. The Raiders are currently last in LHAC standings with a 0-8 record.
