The set to a musical is the biggest part of the show, where stories are brought to life.
The Bellwood-Antis production of Shrek the Musical is right around the corner, and the stage crew has been working hard on the creation of the set. The show opens Thursday and runs for three days through March 29.
Mr. Wolfe, Scott Johnson, John Kinzle, and Curt Fulmer have all helped make the set for Shrek, while Julia Johnson and Mrs. Julie Burliner painted the set.
The set is a castle to represent “Duloc,” which is a make believe kingdom ruled by Lord Farquaad, along with an add-on piece to represent Shrek’s shack, which is in a swamp.
“I think the set is a great addition and it really brings the story to life,” said Lily Burns, who fills any roles in the play, including that of a teenage Fiona.
The set has helped a lot with the cast because they get into character and it brings the show to life.
The cast owes absolutely all of their thanks to the people that helped build and paint the set.
