The Lady Devils traveled to Bellefonte Monday to face off against the Red Raiders. B-A struggled to contain Bellefonte’s offense who combined for four home runs in the loss.
The Lady Devils fell to a 15-5 final. They moved to 2-5 on the season while Bellefonte advanced to 4-1.
The Red Raiders offense was led by Jaylee Lose. Lose hit two home runs and knocked in six runs. Taylor Brown followed with a home run of her own and brought home four. Reagan Manning continued the trend and scored two runs on a home run.
The Lady Devils were kept to just five hits. Karlie Sweigert connected with her first home run of the season bringing home three runs. Hayden Taylor went 2-2 despite Bellefonte’s strong pitching effort.
The game was finalized in the fifth with a mercy rule resulting in the 15-5 final. Alaina Smith collected the win on the rubber and struck out three in Bellefonte’s win.
The girls look to bounce back Wednesday where they host the Clearfield Lady Bison. The Bison are currently 4-3 and are led by Aevril Hayward who is batting .480 with two home runs on the year.
