The Lady Devils continued their road trip Thursday where they took on the Central Cambria Red Devils. The Red Devils pitching shut down B-A’s bats and their strong offense propelled them to a lopsided victory. The Lady Devils offensive struggles continued making their losing streak move to four.
The Lady Devils dropped to 2-8 on the season following the 10-0 final. Central Cambria advanced to 7-3.
The Red Devils bats came out hot in the first putting up five runs. They added three runs to their total in the fourth bringing the game to 8-0. Katie George led the offensive threat with two home runs and three RBIs. Keira Link dominated on the hill and hit a home run to knock in three. Sophia Blasko contributed two hits.
Link kept B-A to just a single hit off the bat of Abby Claybaugh. Link picked up her second win of the year on eight strikeouts.
The Red Devils kept rolling adding one a piece in the fifth and sixth. This brought the game to 10-0 amounting to the mercy rule.
“We’re looking to bounce back against Clearfield tomorrow by hopefully being stronger at the plate to give us more opportunities to score,” junior Parker Martin said.
The girls now host the Clearfield Lady Bison Saturday at 1:00. Clearfield is currently 4-6 on the year and are on a five game losing skid.
