With August winding down there’s one thing everyone’s looking forward to and it’s College Football. Across the collegiate level players and fans have been waiting for this day for 9 long months. And this year 3 matchups rise above the rest, promising the fans a great rest of the season.
1. #1 Texas at #3 Ohio State. This is a highly anticipated matchup between the number 1 ranked Texas at the number 3 ranked Ohio State. This contest is a rematch of the 2025 College Football Playoffs Semifinal in which Ohio State won. This game will feature a intriguing QB showdown with Arch Manning being a Heisman frontrunner, and Julian Saying a former 5 star QB that transferred from Alabama. Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith will be entering his sophomore year at the WR spot, and he will be a huge contribution to the team considering his insanely impressive freshman year. The highly experienced Texas defense is looking to stop the new Ohio State offense which is now coordinated by Brian Hartline.
2. #9 LSU at #4 Clemson. Obviously this game is going to be really exciting considering it features a top-10 matchup between two highly skilled programs. One thing that stands out significantly between these two teams is their defenses, LSUs defense will feature a newer defense with some transfers and young guys, and on the other side Clemsons defense will feature a very experienced and talented group of guys. On the offensive sides LSU will be going back to last year’s starting qb who threw for over 4,000 yards, and Clemsons qb also returns with significant experience. This will also be the first team these two teams play against each other since National Championship in 2020.
3. #6 Notre Dame at #10 Miami. This will be a great to the year for both of these teams considering they’re both starting new quarterbacks. For Miami, Carson Beck will get the start, and for Notre Dame, C.J Carr gets the start. Both of these quarterbacks are going into this game with something to prove which automatically gives this game the intensity that’s fans won’t want to miss. All around Miami brings well balanced and talented players to the both sides of the ball. Notre Dame is usually seen as a insanely good offensive team, and we’ll just have to see how that goes for them in week 1.
HM: #8 Alabama at Florida State.
