Penn State announced on Sunday that their longtime Head Coach James Franklin was relieved of his duties due to the losses against unranked teams over the last few weeks. Over Franklin’s time with the Nittany Lions, his record stands at 104-42, but has a weak record of 4-21 against CFB Ranked opponents.
But, in a shocking move, the Bellwood-Antis School Board approved a motion to hire Franklin as their head coach. The Board said that Franklin is the “final piece” that they were looking for to ensure the football team wins out every season from here on out, referencing Franklin’s resume and experience as the leader of the area’s most popular college football team.
James Franklin is grateful for the move and said he has started watching some of the films from Bellwood-Antis’ recent games to find out the depth of his new team and his opponents. Current Coach Nick Lovrich, who will be moving to an assistant role next season, said that working with Franklin is sort of painful, since Lovrich is a Pitt alum, but he’s looking forward to seeing what Franklin brings to the table.
Franklin promises that changes will be coming to improve the team and their appearance, starting with the team’s socks and overall morale.
B-A will take over paying Franklin the remaining balance of his $49,000,000 buyout in small lump-sums, meaning that school programs could see a decrease in funds or residents could see an increase in taxes.
The football team is anxious to get rallied up behind their new head coach, but the community is questioning how Franklin will perform in important games. “Next thing you know, we’ll look like PSU playing Ohio State when the Backyard Brawl comes around,” said one Bellwood resident.

I am very excited for this. The school needed something like this. Imagine the amount of money that the football team will bring in. The teachers salaries can be on hold for our team. The community should be proud of what school decided to do even if we pay more. We all bleed blue and gold and should all take a little responsibility in paying our guy. We are!!!!! BELLWOOD!!!!!!!!

Totally irresponsible BA!! Ridiculous amount of money for a small town football couch.

This is insane! The school board and taxpayers are going to cover this bill, but not give teachers a fair shake towards negotiations!
Also, what about coach Lovrich! He’s been a staple of this community for years. People need to show up at the school board and demand that this decision be reversed!
