Bellwood is adding a statue of the 45th and 47th president Donald Trump right next to the barber shop on Main Street. It is said to be made because of the town’s never ending support for the president.
The statue will be made out of copper, to replicate the Statue of Liberty. The cost of it is an estimated $27,000.
The Bellwood-Antis township had been saving up spare money for a statue of some kind, and with their recently released poll of who deserves said statue ending with Trump, they started the design plans.
“I think this statue will be a great addition for the town. I just hope it doesn’t distract too many drivers,” said Bellwood-Antis senior Zach Gonzalez.
When asking township further questions, all they had to say was, “the town supports Trump a great amount, what better person to make a statue of then the president of the United States?”
They say they hope the statue replicates the success of the white Statue of Liberty in Harrisburg, and will attract more people to the area.
Construction for the statue begins in two weeks on May 21. It is expected to take around a month to get the statue ready and two days to put the statue in Main Street.
