Just like the pros who go from coast to coast on a nightly basis, one B-A sophomore has put in a lot of travel miles for his passion for hockey.
Tyler Mock has played hockey since he was six years old. Over the years, he’s played for numerous teams including the Altoona Trackers, State College Icers, BG Marauders, and now the Keystone Wild.
Currently, he is a defenseman for the Keystone Wild in the 18U AA. The team often travels for their games, journeying as far as Boston but frequently playing gin Pittsburgh.
“We could travel anywhere from an hour to five hours for a game,” said Mock.
The travels, however, don’t come without struggles. Mock used to have trouble managing his hockey career and schooling.
He says, “There used to be difficulties with balancing school and hockey. Over the years, I’ve gotten good at it.”
Mock enjoys the competitive aspect of hockey as well as the opportunity to play alongside his friends. The best player he has ever competed with, he said. is Max Shaffer, who attends Palmyra.
Mock isn’t opposed to the idea of continuing his hockey career and could even see himself playing in college. His plans aren’t set in stone yet, but if an opportunity to continue playing arises, he’s sure he will take it.
