Mr. McNaul’s Fundamentals of American Law class recently made a trip to a few locations essential to the prosecution of law on a local setting.
The class of eleven started their day on April 17 by visiting the Altoona Police Department, where officers showed areas where suspected criminals are temporarily held and where evidence to cases are held. The personnel of Altoona PD gave students souvenirs and prizes for correctly answering trivia questions about the police department and its officers’ responsibilities.

The class then went to Downtown Hollidaysburg for lunch followed by a visit to the Blair County Courthouse. The courthouse, built in 1876, is home to one of the nicest courtroom facilities, Courtroom 1, where the law class was arranged to sit at the different positions in a trial, such as judge, jury, and lawyers. While at the courthouse, the Honorable Judge Paula M. Aigner talked to students about her lifetime in the county court system, as well as what it takes to become someone with deep legal knowledge and be a judge.
