B-A topples West Branch

After two big wins this week, Caroline Showalter and the Lady Devils are looking for a win this weekend over Bishop Guilfoyle.

The Bellwood-Antis Lady Devils had another big game last night as they defeated the West Branch Lady Warriors 83-43.

Karson Swogger led the team in scoring with 36 points and also added 5 assists and 4 rebounds in the teams dominating performance.

B-A started their dominating performance in the first quarter when they scored 25 point while only allowing West Branch to score 8 points.

The girls’ had a slow second quarter, and the Lady Warriors were able to reduce the lead to seven at halftime, 37-30.

“The first half we played kind of sloppy,” said sophomore Tina Hollen. “But we came out after hafltime and went on a run.”

The Lady Devils’ came out strong in the third, scoring 24 before adding another 19 in the fourth.

West Branch was held to 13 points in the second half as the Lady Blue Devils improved to 6-3.

The Lady Blue Devils will be back in action Saturday night when they face Bishop Guilfoyle Lady Marauders.

“Everything we have done this season has led to this game and the Tyrone game (on Monday),” Hollen said.
