Three weird songs that are pretty strange.

Eli Vaglica, Staff Writer

Music can sound pretty weird and it can get pretty weird. Like things you can’t un-see there are things you wish you never heard. So many things you wish you never heard… Well I have heard those things and I am here to make you listen to those things until you understand why they were even produced as music. You probably still won’t understand what possessed someone to make these, but whatever. You’re going to hear horse noises made by people that was for some reason released as a song; you’re going to hear a man who can bawitdaba da bang da bang diggy diggy diggy shake the boogie said up jump the boogie; and you’re going to hear music from a series of puppet cartoons on YouTube that get pretty freaky.

Bawitdaba – Kid Rock

Kid Rock/YouTube

This song screams “wheeliebois,” it’s got dirtbikes and guitars, and it’s got total nonsense – the full package. This is probably the most tame thing on this list, but seriously once you hear the “Bawitdaba” lines you can’t help but think “what on earth is that man saying and why is he saying it?” Is boogie a person, place or thing? Is it an idea, religion or set of systematic principles? How does one bawitdaba? If you try to sing along to this song, I’m pretty sure you’ll tie your tongue in such a knot that the only reasonable way to undo it is amputation. It’s more of just a sly insult that this is song is on this list. For one it’s insulting to the people who made this song and took it seriously, but also to weird songs that actually deserve the title of being weird.

Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared 3 – Becky and Joe

I have no idea what to tell you as to what this about, and the internet can’t tell you either. It’s definitely weird. This isn’t the first or last Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared (DHMIS for short). This particular one has been considered to be several different themes: obviously love is one, religion another and finally just general conformism. All of the DHMIS episodes have brought on different opinions of what they’re about and they all have a connection that links the weird storyline together. Soon actually, there may be an episode 6 of this bizarre show. Maybe it’ll get popular enough to become its own show, but it appears to take quite a bit of time and effort to produce these short clips.

Horses – David Byrne

So the guy who made this was in the Talking Heads. However, having heard this melodic music, it’s cringe-worthy. This song and album was made as like a score for some choreography, but it’s just so weird. Random noises and sounds that I’m not sure are supposed to exist make up this odd song that I suppose tries to sound like horses. You won’t catch me listening to this in my spare time, I hate it. It’s literal ear pain to me. If you want to creep people out, even yourself, listen to this. If you’re someone who’s scared of their own shadow, don’t listen to this song you’ll get nightmares. I’ve listened to it in its entirety maybe two times. This song will mess you up, it’s probably the weirdest thing you’ll ever hear.
