Bellwood-Antis senior Lilly Gerwert is headed to the Altoona Mirror Classic this Friday at the Penn State Altoona campus, one of may post-season recognitions on the way for the thousand-point scoring senior.

The Altoona Mirror Classic is an all-star showcase pitting the top senior players from Blair County against a group of top seniors from the Central Region. There’s a girls and boys game, with the girls kicking off the night at 6:30 followed by the boys at 8:30.
Gerwert averaged 19.2 points per game 9.5 rebounds per game and 2.9 blocks per game. She was also recently named the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference East Division MVP.
Joining Gerwert will be a strong roster consisting of Gia Adams (BG), Regan Prough (Williamsburg), Kendall Cogan (Altoona), LeeAnn Royer (Williamsburg), Zaelinh Nguyen-Moore (Altoona), Rylan Crowell (Tyrone), Makenna Weimert (Hollidaysburg), Clare Padamonskey (Hollidaysburg), Stella Yeskey (BG), Alana Lightner (Hollidaysburg), and Samantha Harpster (Altoona). The team will be coached by Williamsburg’s Angela Detwiler.
The Central PA girls team features a number of District champions and college signees, led by St. Joseph’s Academy star Naomi Crispin.
Gerwert was B-A’s top player during a 13-10 season that ended in the second round of the District 6 2A. She finished her career with 1,358 points, good enough for seventh all-time at B-A.
