Thirty years ago Bellwood-Antis put on the musical “South Pacific” with leading players Dorie Weiand and Mike Delgrosso.

The actors also included: Dorie Weiand as Nellie Forbush, Paul Politza as Emile, Mike Delgrosso as Lieutenant Cable, Julie Halbedl as List, Jack Dorminy as Luther Billis, and Amy Myers as Bloody Mary.

The musical was a success with a total of eighteen hundred tickets sold with a “Standing Room Only” each of the three nights. Accordingly, it was featured in the Altoona Mirror and the Tyrone Herald. The musical was directed by Mr. Bower.

Other vital people to the musical were Jennifer Crosser, Student Director; Mr. Rumbarger, Orchestra Conductor; Miss Munn, Choreographer; Mrs. Carlson, Art Designer; and Dan Baker as Stage Crew Director.

This year, the music department is putting on the show “Godspell”. The rehearsals have just started, and will be in full swing by February.
Over the years, Bellwood still hasn’t changed and still keep the traditions the same; just like musicals and a great cast.
