What was supposed to be a tight game all of the way  surprisingly turned into yet another blowout.

The Lady Blue Devil basketball team defeated Penns Valley by a score of 76-44 at home on Saturday.

Penns Valley came in at 12-3, the front-runner in the Mountain League.

In the first quarter it seemed like it was going to be a dog fight all the way with Penns Valley leading 17-16. Bellwood-Antis picked it up in the second quarter, though, and managed to get a 9-point lead before the half.

The third quarter was dominated by the Blue Devils outscoring Penns Valley 21-7.

Three Lady Blue Devils had double-doubles in the win. Sophomore Alli Campbell led the team in scoring, while completing the double-double. She had 28 points, pulled 10 rebounds, dished 5 assists, had 4 takeaways, and sent back 4 shots.

Sakeria Haralson also had a double-double with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Senior Tina Hollen also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Penns Valley sent Bellwood-Antis to the charity stripe a surprising 29 times, but the Lady Blue Devils didn’t fully capitalize, hitting only 59% of their free throws.

B-A improved to 15-2 and will host Mount Union tonight.
