Leidig completes milestone as Lady Blue Devils blow past Williamsburg
Last Friday the Lady Blue Devils basketball team cruised to an easy 79-24 win over Williamsburg.
The Lady Blue Devils started off hot with a 38 point lead going into the half, and the same type of energy carried into the second half as they secured their 13th straight win.
Alli Campbell came away with 21 points, and 10 rebounds, and Sakeria Harleson had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Senior Emilie Leidig was just 21 points away from her 1,000 point goal going into Friday’s game. A strong 18 point first quarter from Leidig left everyone in the gym guessing when that magical 1,000 would hit, but it didn’t take long. Just a couple of minutes into the second quarter Emilie reached her goal, and the entire gym erupted. Leidig finished with a whopping 29 points to help the Lady Blue Devils blow past Williamsburg. Since freshman year Emilie has been a key player for the Lady Blue Devils, and so far has scored 1,008 points in just 97 games in her career. The BluePrint would like to congratulate Emilie on her 1,000 point milestone.
“It was a great feeling to know that I accomplished something like that,” said Emilie. “I’ve always had that goal to reach 1,000 and it’s crazy to think that I did it.”
The Lady Blue Devils next outing will be on Thursday when they host Mount Union. ju
