Girls defeat Portage on the road
Tuesday the girls basketball team traveled to Portage for an out-of-conference matchup.
The Blue Devils had a strong first half, including a 11-3 run in the last 2 minutes of the second quarter, to put them ahead 40-32 at half.
Going into the second half the girls didn’t miss a beat as they rolled to an easy 76-58 victory.
“We went into the game knowing they were going to give us their best,” said Emilie Leidig. “After coming off the loss against Juniata Valley, we knew we had to do the little things right.”
The 3-ball was definitely the key for the Blue Devils in their victory, both teams made 24 field goals but the 13 three pointers from the Blue Devils made all the difference.
Alli Campbell finished with a staggering 31 points and 11 rebounds, and Leidig finished with 17, 15 of which came off of 3’s.
This game puts the girls at (18-1) on the season.
