Daman Mills and Christian Sensibaugh each ran sub-19 times at the ICC championship meet.

The Bellwood-Antis cross country teams competed at the annual ICC Championship Wednesday, taking on over seven teams including Moshannon Valley, Juniata Valley, Mount Union, Southern Huntington, Southern Fulton, Williamsburg, West Branch, and Windber.

Neither the girls nor the boys were able to pick up the victory, ending their two year consecutive ICC Championship reign. Even though Bellwood didn’t capture the title, Blue Devil runners were able to make great accomplishments for the cross country team as individuals. I

In the girls race, senior Alexis Lovrich was able to get 1st place overall (19:44). Perhaps most impressive, Lovrich is in her first season running cross country.

In the boys race, Christian Sensibaugh (18:36) placed 8th, Daman Mills (18:47) placed 11th, and Corrigan Shanafelt (19:49) placed 22nd.

Not only did Devil varsity runners have great times, but B-A’s junior high runner, Blake Pennington (13:26), was able to get 3rd overall against both boys and girls in the junior high race.

Overall the team had a fantastic race regardless of the weather and have only a couple of invitationals left before the end of the season.
