Thad Dick is staring as Conrad Birdie in the up-coming spring production!

In the up-and-coming musical production of Bye Bye Birdie this spring, Thad Dick will star as Conrad Birdie! The show follows Conrad as the famous musical icon is being sent off to war, and he must bestow his last kiss on one of his fans before he leaves.

We asked him a few questions about his musical journey and what he’s looking forward to most:

Blueprint: What is your role in the musical?

Thad: Conrad Birdie.

Blueprint: Why did you choose to participate?

Thad: I love to act and sing.

Blueprint: What is your favorite thing about being in the musical?

Thad: Hanging out with my friends before and after practice.

Blueprint: Have you participated in previous musicals before?

Thad: Yes, High School musical, Beauty and The Beast, and Grease.

Blueprint: What can the audience expect from this performance of Bye Bye Birdie?

Thad: They can expect a comical, family friendly musical.

Blueprint: Did you know about Bye Bye Birdie before the musical was decided upon?

Thad: Yes, I saw the movie.

Blueprint: Who do you think the audience’s favorite character will be and why?

Thad: I think Birdie because he is raunchy and out of pocket sometimes, and people should think he is funny.

Blueprint: Give us your best pitch on way people should come see the musical.

Thad: People should come to the musical because it is a nice family friendly, comical musical for the whole family, and what better to see a musical performed by your very own Bellwood-Antis students!

Congratulations Thad, and we can’t wait to see what you have to bring to the production!
