This week’s Artist of the Week is ninth grader Anika Giffin! She participates in high school band as well as competitive cheerleading through Nova Cheer Elite.
Her favorite activity is cheer because she’s been doing it since seven years old. She has loved it ever since.
In band, Anika has improved immensely to the point she can play whatever song is put in front of her. For cheer, She has been able to improve a bunch of impressive skills.
Anika’s motivation to continue what she does is famous cheerleaders that inspire her. In music, she really enjoys the way flute and piccolo sounds, and it makes her want to continue to play those instruments.
So far even as a freshman, Anika would like to possibly go to college in the medical field to become an EMT. She does, however, wish to continue both cheer and band beyond high school.
“Believe in yourself! Push yourself to the best of your ability and you will be just fine,” said Anika.
